Located near Jamsil, Seoul Treasure Den for Books is a new vision of the Seoul Metropolitan Government to instill the value of old books in the heart of Seoulites. Old books can be represented as breathing organisms that embraces the warmth of humanity and the spirit of a generation. Through Seoul Treasure Den for Books, these old books are given a new breath of life. In addition, occupying an area of whooping 1,465 m2, it is home to the Korea’s first public used bookstore. This gigantic bookstore holds 130,000 books in one space in which the visitors can gain knowledge of prominent figures representative of their times. Also, visitors can enjoy the diverse range of independent publications that cannot be found elsewhere.
