Hakrim, located near Hyehwa Station, is the oldest cafe in Seoul. It first opened in 1956 and you can still find original decor and menu items. Through some of the most turbulent decades during the formation of the newly-formed Republic of Korea, Hakrim was a relaxing escape. Classic artists such as poet Cheon Sang-byeong and singer Gwang-seok Kim penned works at this cafe.
