Buramsan Mountain is one of Seoul’s many beautiful mountains. Buramsan sits between the Nowon-gu neighborhood in Seoul and the city of Namyangju. The mountain’s name is said to have come from a large rock on the mountain’s peak that is said to resemble the Buddha wearing a monk’s hat (songnak). The mountain is also sometimes referred to locally as Cheonbosan or Piramsan. Because Buramsan’s ridge is quite wide, it’s easy see panoramas of the city. Many people hike Buramsan to watch the sunrise.
